Representatives for country singer Wynonna Judd say she is engaged to her boyfriend Scott “Cactus” Moser, who popped the question on Christmas Eve, and right now she couldn’t be happier.
The 47-year-old is currently on a tour and started dating Moser, the drummer for the country group Highway 101, in late 2009 and sources directly connected to the couple say the love they have is real.
Judd is on a slow comeback after a long hiatus. She recently documented her family reunion with mother Naomi on the OWN TV series The Judds in 2011. Prior to that, she suffered health problems, a car accident and total estrangement from her entire family.
Wynonna, who is from Ashland, Ky., has sold more than 30 million albums throughout her 28-year career and has won five Grammys. She and mother Naomi have performed as The Judds.
Judd Tweeted on Thursday that she planned to share her joy with fans on Twitter this coming weekend.
“Tune in Sat night during tweet party-excited to share my feelings of joy with you,” she wrote.
As soon as we know what that’s all about, we’ll post it here.
No wedding date has been announced, but we’ll send out an update when it happens.
“I have loved Highway 101 since working with them in the 1980s,” Wynonna told Christian Music Daily. “Their music is timeless. I am a fan, and you will be, too!”
The group released their DVD, Christmas on Highway 10, with a special appearance by Wynonna, last November.
Judd has waged a very public battle with her weight and dropped 55 pounds last year.
Wynonna has been engaged and married twice before. In 2007, she divorced her second husband, D.R. Roach, after four years of marriage. The singer and her first husband Arch Kelly III were married in 1996 and split in 1998.
Judd has two children, Elijah (17) and Grace (15) with first husband Arch Kelly III.
