Truck Specifications For 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid

The 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid ranks 5 out of 8 full size pickup trucks according to average independent research. This ranking is based on test drives, analysis of reliability and safety data. However, these rankings also include non-hybrid full size pickup trucks.

The General Motors Hybrid has 6,100 pounds of towing capacity with up to 1459 payloads. The Sierra achieves about 21 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. While this isn't the best mileage reported so far on hybrid trucks, it is still better than its conventional counterpart.

It comes equipped with 300-Volt NiMH battery pack on an aluminum-block 6.0 liter push rod V8. The transmission utilizes 4 fixed gear ratios with two 60-kilowatt electric motors with planetary gear sets, which provide a full sized pickup truck performance and fuel economy. The engine consists of a Vortec 6.OL V8 SFI, LIVC with active fuel management and two-mode hybrid eclectic propulsion system. The Sierra Hybrid is only in a four-door crew cab with a short bed.

The 2010 Sierra safety and security features consist of airbags, head cushions, remote key less entry, one year on all-star and stability-trak. The airbags are dual stage for the front driver and passenger with a passenger sensing system. The head cushions are front-side impact airbags. The remote key less entry is not only a great safety feature, but a huge convience. The OnStar system comes free for the first year. As OnStar says "The safety and security of OnStar provides you with a greater peace of mind while driving."

OnStar is the popular in-vehicle safety and security system created to help protect you and your family on the road. The OnStar innovative system offers 24-hour access to expert caring Advisors. These advisors can also connect you to immediate emergency assistance. The system also provides access to hands-free calling so that you keep your hands on the wheel and away from the phone.

Lastly, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which is a computerized technology that improves the safety of a vehicle's stability by detecting and minimizing skids. When ESC detects loss of steering control, it automatically applies the brakes to help "steer" the vehicle where the driver intends to go. Braking is automatically applied to individual wheels, such as the outer front wheel to counter over-steer, or the inner rear wheel to counter under-steer.

GM Hybrid trucks are growing by popular demand from consumers who want better fuel economy. These pickups offer all the benefits in comparison to their conventional counterparts. The 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid is a reliable and dependable vehicle.
