2011 September Product Recalls

This is a the 2011 September Product Recalls list. The final month of summer was a busy one and contains everything from the latest outbreak of listeria to undeclared allergens. We begin with a Colorado farm.

Jensen Farms in Granada, Colorado, recalled its Rocky Ford cantaloupe after it was linked to a multi-state outbreak of listeriosis.

All 16-ounce packages of Del Bueno’s Queso Fresco Casero Fresh Cheese with a date stamp of Sept 14 due to listeria contamination.

Strong America’s 5.28-ounce packages of Huipu Chinese Wolfberry due to undeclared sulfites.

Sanith Ourn Farm recalled 390 pounds of fresh hot basil herb because it may be contaminated with salmonella marked with FLT DATE of 08/23/11 and 08/30/11.

Approximately 1,423 cases of frozen avocado pulp and 1,820 cases of avocado halves by Fine Mexican Food Products, Inc distributed in California with Product code 00115.

SunRidge Farms All Natural Milk Chocolate Cranberries due to an ingredient.

Multiple lines of Chocolate Decadence chocolate products, because they may contain undeclared milk.

Approximately 1,535 units of individual 7.7-ounce containers of SoyNilla protein powder for undeclared milk.

BUI Natural Tofu Shrimp Salad Roll and Vegetarian Salad Rolls with UPC numbers 8-95467-00203-8, and 8-95467-00204-5.

Best Food Cash & Carry’s 14-ounce packages of Deer Raisin Golden raisins because of an ingredient.

Quaker Oats 8-count Chewy Smashbar Graham Pretzel snack bars due to an undeclared allergen.

If you have any of the problems mentioned in the above list, the FDA recommends that you bag and throw it away. Some grocery stores might give customers a refund, so be sure to call your local retailer.
