First medical marijuana ad by CannaCare. CannaCare is running the first ad for medical marijuana without controversy. The marijuana ad aired on Fox affiliate KTXL from a shop called CannaCare to promote first medical awareness.
Medical marijuana is still a controversial subject. However, the first ad by CannaCare isn’t getting the expected reaction. It aired on Fox affiliate KTXL in Sacramento, California.
“A decision by a Fox affiliate in California’s capital to broadcast what is believed to be the first paid ad for a medical marijuana dispensary has caused hardly a stir,” Mike Armstrong, KTXL general manager, said in a statement. “I answer my own phone, and I have received nothing directly,” Armstrong said. “I expected more. I don’t know. I just did.”
CannaCare is owned by Lanette Davies, a dispensary in Sacramento. She serves more than 5,000 registered marijuana patients. “It has been all positive,” Lanette Davies said in a statement. “I have not had one negative response. I expected more people to say, ‘I don’t like that.’ I’m really pleasantly surprised that people have acknowledged the difference between a patient and somebody that is an abuser.” Moreover, Davies is opposed to the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes.
