Pet food recall expands for Procter & Gamble. The recall involving Procter & Gamble pet food expands to dog and cat products. The pet food could be contaminated by Salmonella, which has expanded the recall.

There is a possibility that some of the dry pet food could be contaminated by salmonella. The following pet foods should be checked as part of this recall:

1. Iams Veterniary Dry, Formulas, all sizes and varieties
2. Eukanuba Naturally Wild, all sizes and varieties.
3. Eukanuba Pure, all sizes and varieties
4. Eukanuba Custom Care Sensitive Skin, all dry sizes

All of these products are sold in veterinary clinics, and pet store retailers in the U.S. and Canada. By calling 1-877-340-8823 you can receive a replacement or refund. Procter & Gamble pet food is advising purchasers to discard the affected products because people who handle the food could become infected.

Signs of being infected include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Contact your medical doctor immediately if you have these symptoms. Pets who have become infected due to the food recall mirror the signs of their adult counter-parts. Observe your pet and look for these signs. In addition, pets may have a decrease in appetite. Pets who are left untreated may become lethargic, vomit and have diarrhea.
