Instant Noodle Recall After Failed Inspection – USDA Noodle Recall

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall of more than 50,000 pounds of noodles. Instant noodles manufactured by the Jin Mai Lang brand has been subjected to recall for not meeting the import standards. The product was imported to the United States from China.

A New Jersey importer, Well Luck Co., Inc, made the decision to implement the recall of the noodles brand based on import standards. The inspection requirements for pork, beef, and poultry products was part of the failed standards for products being shipped to the United States.

The Jin Mai Lang Brand noodles were sold throughout the entire country. So far, the recall has been successful and there have not been reports of any health issues surrounding the noodles. Well Luck Co., Inc. has set up a help line for anyone to call in with questions regarding the recall and for those who would just like to know more about the issue.

Though the recall issued by the company is massive and has been made effective all over the country, the officials of the company have not made any comment on this issue. However, the U.S. Agriculture Department in their statement provided some information about the recall. They reported that the noodles could not reach the inspection requirement for pork, beef and poultry products in the United States.

China’s Food Safety Inspection Not Equivalent To U.S. Standards

It has been reported that the noodles were sold in the entire country and so the recall is applicable to all states. The company has provided specifications through their hotline so that consumers do not face any difficulty in identifying the recalled products. According to the USDA, China’s food safety inspection system is not equivalent to the standards set for the United States.
