Samsung New Slim Laptops Are Lightweight With Intel Core 2 Duo

The new laptops by Samsung Electronics feature an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The slim laptops are known as the X360 and X460 models. The business technology company promises a thin and lightweight notebook solution.

The Samsung X360 has a starting price of $1,899. It comes with a an Intel Core 2 Duo. The eye-catching X460 has a starting price of $1,699. The X460 offers a larger display screen and discrete graphics.

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd released more details of its new line of laptops. The business technology company has introduced the lightweight X360 and X460 models.

The X360 is priced at $1,899 and includes a 1.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The unit comes with a 120 GB hard drive. There is also a second version priced at $2,499 which has a 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The second version comes with a 128 GB solid-state drive. The two models include integrated Intel X4500 graphics and 4GB of 1,066 MHz RAM.

The Samsung X360 also includes Bluetooth and an Ethernet port and an ExpressCard slot. It has USB 2.0 ports with VGA- and HDMI-out. The unit also has headphone and microphone jacks, a seven-in-one-memory card reader and a connector for a docking station. The battery has 10 hours of life.

The new X460 laptop is priced at $1,699 and has a larger 14.1 inch display screen. Samsung says it has discrete graphics and comes with an optical drive. The unit comes with a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 320 GB hard drive. It has a second configuration model which is priced at $1,799. The second configuration includes a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Both configurations include the Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS graphics with 256 MB onboard video. The laptops also have 4 GB ram, built-in DVD burner and the same ports and connections as that of the X360.

Samsung also plans to enter the consumer PC market by selling its computers through an arrangement with an undisclosed retailer starting in the spring of 2009.
