Apple Inc surprised investors last month by unveiling a new laptop design for its MacBook computers. The business technology company unleashed a revamp model of the notebook. We finally got our hands on one to review.

Macintosh computers still remain a distant second place to Windows PCs. However, the Apple Mac has been gaining market share. Analysts say the popularity of its iPod media players and its iPhones have attracted consumers to buy its Mac computers.

There are unconfirmed reports that the business technology company might reduce its premium prices for the new MacBook models. This unconfirmed rumor started last month before the release of the new laptops.

Some analysts believe that Apple should lower the starting price below $800. Moreover, the company is shifting from plastic notebook casings to a more eco-friendly aluminum.

The MacBook is fast and has the traditional user-friendly interface. I am new to the new Mac OS X operating system, but if you really want a real laptop, Macintosh seems to be the competition hands-down.

While the Macintosh is pricey, it does serve good quality. Support is also friendly. I will probably keep my desktop the same, running Windows Vista, but for my traveling it has to be the Macintosh.

I think one of the important factors when on the road is security. The best thing I do like about the Mac is its ability to catch spam and terminate virus threats.

The MacBook also weighs less than the previous one I got from Gateway. I wasn't happy about the price, but when you add up everything you get with the MacBook, there is no comparison. The colors on the monitor seem very fresh and clean. The speed is perfect and I also loaded a video game on it. One of my stops was in Orlando. I connected to the Wi-Fi immediately without having to change my settings.

If you live near an Apple store, go in and demo the new MacBook. I really think you'll like it.
