The new Internet Web browser by Mozilla Foundation is called Fennec. The Internet Web browser is made for mobile devices. Fennec has support for Nokia Corp's N810 Internet Tablet but will also run on desktops and laptops.
Mozilla Corp on Thursday released the first public preview of its mobile Internet Web browser. The mobile browser is called Fennec and includes touch screen support with a Firefox tab interface.
Fennec is released for the Nokia Corp's N810 Internet Tablet device. The Nokia N810 is not a mobile phone, but rather is a small device for browsing through the Internet, similar in some ways to Apple Inc.'s iPod touch. It runs the Maemo operating system.
The new Internet Web browser is also available for desktop PCs and Macs for testing purposes. The alpha version supports Windows, OS X and Linux. The Web browser is built from the same Gecko code base that drives the new Firefox 3.1 version.
Mozilla said it is working on a new version of Fennec to support Microsoft Corp's Windows Mobile operating system.
The Internet Web browser for mobile devices includes touch screen support, a password manager and pop-up blocker, offers a Firefox-style tab-browsing interface, and provides the same address bar functionality as Firefox.
