Latest MPG Ratings For 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid SUV

The MPG rating and fuel cost savings from the 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid has helped many local counties maintain its decreased budget during the economic downturn. For example, the Los Angeles County Lifeguard Services has been driving 45 of the Ford Hybrid SUVs. The fleet has saved more than 97,500 pounds of carbon emissions, since they went into service for the county.

The Ford Hybrid sport utility vehicle has an EPA rating of 34 city and 31 highway and a base MSRP of $29,645. This is a far more mileage rating that most conventional gasoline cars. The Escape Hybrid is powered by a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine and it handles seamlessly when converting to electric mode operation.

It is also interesting that the Ford Escape has reduced the fleet's fuel usage by 25 percent, which is more than 5,000 gallons of gasoline, during the first six months of service. This service includes a time when the beaches were 20 percent higher than the previous year. Fuel-efficient SUVs are playing a big role with local governments during a time when budgets are a great concern.

This Ford Hybrid SUV handles nicely in the city and on the highway. Some of the standard features include all power conveniences, driver's information center, keyless remote entry, and the Ford Sync communication system. Standard safety features include front airbags, front seat mounted side airbags and side-curtain airbags for front and rear passengers.

The 2010 Ford Hybrid SUV comes with several new features to increase ride stability and traction control. The sport-utility vehicle features a stabilizer bar and enhanced suspension to increase ride performance and handling. Ford also tweaked the styling to make the Escape more aerodynamic, added 16-inch low-rolling-resistance tires and upgraded the transmission to create a significant increase in efficiency.

Ford Motor Company is expanding its connectivity leadership by introducing exclusive new SYNC real-time information features. The Escape is one of the first vehicles to introduce this innovation. This feature includes SYNC with Traffic, Directions and Information, which leverages industry-leading voice-recognition software, integrated GPS technology, and a customer's Bluetooth-capable mobile phone.

What more could you ask for in a SUV? This sport-utility vehicle is loaded. Also, I just found this out today, President Barack Obama and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs both own the same fuel-efficient Ford Escape.

The new Ford Escape SUV has a two-tone appearance with body panels. The Ford vehicle has lower-fascia in complimentary colors that make this Escape SUV alive with its monochromatic appearance. Add to that its mind-boggling exterior.

The new sport-utility vehicle will come with AdvanceTrac stability control with anti-rollover technology, four-wheel ABS and tire pressure monitoring. Safety features include trunk entrapment release, tire pressure monitor, dual front airbags, front and rear head curtain airbags, and front side impact airbags.

Engineers also achieved a more seamless transition from electric regenerative braking system to traditional braking operation. The vehicle responds quickly when making turns or when accelerating. The Ford Escape Hybrid is the only SUV, which I've driven, to make this transition smoothly without any engine noises or sudden loss in engine power.
