A bowler accidentally shoots himself in the leg at a busy bowling alley in Florida. Witnesses at Jupiter Lanes, in Jupiter, Florida, say he accidentally firing a gun in his pocket.
Police think he went to swing the ball but hit it on his limb, which set off the concealed revolver to shoot.
Spectators thought it was a firecracker, but they spotted the bowler clutching his leg as he limped back to his seat after realizing that he shot himself.
“The guy just stepped up to bowl,” fellow bowler Jim Miller told local ABC News affiliate WPBF. “I think he hit his leg on his back swing.”
The man, who has not been named, was rushed to nearby St. Mary’s Medical Center. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Police said the bowler had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and is unlikely to face charges.
“Everybody kind of stopped,” witness Debra Dean said. “We were way down on this end. Everybody was looking, and all of a sudden you can tell something wasn’t right.”
