A woman was arrested this past weekend in South Dakota for breaking into a home and trying to breast feed the new born baby that lived in it. Now the outrageous story is turning into a she said, she said back and forth.
The unidentified mother told police she was awakened by the sounds of her dogs barking around 5am on Easter Sunday, only to find the accused intruder, 24-year-old Rebecca Silva in the woman’s pajama’s sleeping next to her in bed.
The mother said that when she awoke Silva she grabbed her two-month old baby and tried to start breast feeding it, but she was able to talk Silva into handing over the baby before she called the authorities.
Silva now claims that the mother, invited her to stay in the home for the night and gave her the pajama’s. She also claims that the two had been drinking together then got into an argument leading to the mother calling the police.
“I did not break into her house,” she told the Associated Press. “She gave me her pajamas. She lied to the cops that I broke into her house. I did not try to feed her baby. That didn’t happen.”
Lt. Derrick Powers of the Brookings, S.D. police said that at the time of the arrest it appeared that Silva had been drinking. She was charged with a misdemeanor unlawful occupancy.
