Cat perches shoulders on cop to search for burglar. The cop picked up the orange cat so that it wouldn’t step into glass of the basement and bathroom of a home. The feline happily climbed onto Officer Sarah Kerwin’s shoulders.

According to WebProNews, cats are prone to adorably hilarious behaviors that people can’t resist sharing. It happened while police were called to a home in Portland, Ore. to report an alleged burglary. A photo of the animal has gone viral, WebProNews writes:

“A woman came home from work on Monday afternoon and found that the place had been ransacked … Soon after, police arrived on scene and entered the home to begin searching for a possible suspect … While officers were searching the cat’s southeast Portland home, Kewlin noted the feline on the floor near the broken glass.”

And that’s when the cat perches on the cop. It became so funny that a picture was needed. The photo has been shared throughout the social media networks.

The feline quickly became an official crime scene investigator, without missing a beat, leading Kerwin into doorways. This home resident was serious about locating the suspect. Some people think that the crashing of glass may have scared the little animal as News Max writes:

“The suspect is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, 5-feet tall, and skinny, with curly brown hair. Authorities told the newspaper that the male suspect was wearing a dark-colored track suit with pants tucked into his socks and boots. Another witness said they saw an older white van, driven by a man with dark hair and sunglasses, in the neighborhood.”

With a cat who perches on a cop gets all the attention, we’re sure that the police dogs are a bit jealous. This only demonstrates a simple act of human kindness extended to helpless animals. Perhaps the real hero is Kerwin, which is probably what the dogs want you to think.
