A human finger was found in an Arby’s sandwich by a Michigan teenager, and that’s bad for the fast-food chain’s reputation. Ryan Hart, 14, took a bite from his Arby’s roast beef sandwich and quickly spit it back out.
According to the Jackson Citizen Patriot, Hart bit into a piece of a finger that measured to be about one-inch long and a quarter-inch thick.
This incident took place on May 11, 2012 at the Arby’s on N. West Avenue in Jackson, Michigan when the boy’s mother took him to the restaurant after school to grab a quick bite to eat.
Health officials confirmed that an Arby’s employee cut off part of her finger while slicing meat for the boy’s meal and went to the emergency room without telling her supervisor.
So, her unknowing co-workers picked up where she left off to fill the order.
“A human being loses a finger and you just keep on sending food out the window,” said the teen’s mom, Jamie Vail. “I can’t believe that.”
Arby’s V.P. of communications, John Gray, extensively expressed remorse for the disturbing incident and wanted to let customers know that this was, in fact, an isolated incident.
