A Florida couple who have a love for playing in the mud decided to hold their wedding, dubbed ‘A Big Old Muddy Redneck Wedding’ in a mud pit this past Saurday.
Carina and Kodie Umphenour explained that most of their relationship has been around mud, with their first couple of dates consisting of them going four wheeling on ATV’s.
“We went and played on four wheelers. We have four mud trucks and seven four-wheelers. This is our life … the mud bog is our vacation from everything,” Carina told ABCNews.com.
Kodie even proposed to Carina in one mud pit last year.
The wedding took place at the Hog Waller Mud Bog and ATV, an outdoor adventure park in Palaka, Florida. The operator of the park, Charlie Matthews asked for permission to promote the wedding and charged $15 a ticket for anyone who wanted to attend. 2,000 people paid the price of admission to witness the couples muddy ceremony.
Carina appeared in a camouflage wedding dress complete with a bright orange bikini underneath in case she fell in the mud, while Kodie was also covered in camouflage gear from head to toe.
Carina explained, “Being a redneck is nothing to be ashamed of. We’re just like anybody else; we just have a different idea of fun.”
“It was amazing,” she added.
