Machine Gun Subway – A machine gun was found on a man in the New York City Subway system in Manhattan. The suspect, 33-year-old Allen Reggie from South Carolina, was also carrying a .45 caliber loaded handgun as well as a Luger Tec. Police first spotted him going through the subway terminal without paying.
Police believe they averted a bad situation.
The Luger Tec-9 machine gun was found in a bag that Reggie was carrying with him.
The NYPD has charged Reggie with criminal possession of a loaded weapon and other charges. It was not immediately known what Reggie’s intentions where when he was trying to gain access to the subway.
Considered the busiest railway system in the America’s the New York subway system is the fourth busiest in the world carrying 1.5 billion passengers yearly. The New York subway runs 24/7 365 days a year.
Due to the bombings in 2005 of London’s transit system the New York City Transit Police in acted a new policy of where passengers would have their bags randomly checked as they approached turnstiles.
In 2009, Najibullah Zazi was arrested along with co-conspirators for their part in an al-Qaeda plan to attempt suicide bombings during rush hour on the subway system. Zazi plead guilty to the charges.
