Man Faked Mom’s Obituary – A man in Pennsylvania, who faked his own mom’s obituary in the Jeffersonian Democrat newspaper, has been charged with disorderly conduct.

Authorities say he wrote it as a ploy to get paid Holiday time off from work.

Relatives called The Jeffersonian Democrat in Brookville after the obituary appeared to report the woman was actually alive and well.

The woman herself then visited the paper to prove that it was a total fake.

Brookville police charged 45-year-old Scott Bennett on Tuesday with disorderly conduct.

Democrat editor Randy Bartley says he accepted the obituary in good faith after being unable to confirm the funeral arrangements at press time.

He said the woman was very understanding.

Police Chief Ken Dworek says Bennett wrote up the memorial notice because he didn’t want to get fired for taking time off.

It’s unknown what punishment he faces from his mother, but we’re guessing that the home will be shaken to its core when he gets out of jail.

There are so many things wrong with this picture.

It would’ve made more sense for him to call in sick, than to put so much time into writing an obituary about his own mother.
