On Saturday a Niagara Falls man offered to pay for his burger dinner at a local Denny’s with a bag of marijuana. He tried to give the restaurant a bag of weed for his meal after coming up well short of the cash he needed.
Police were called to the Denny’s a little after 2am on Saturday when a cashier reported that a man ordered $9.91 worth of food and when it came time to pay his bill, he offered the cashier $1.00 and a bag of marijuana. After the cashier refused to accept the offer, the man tried to sell the bag of marijuana to other restaurant patrons in order to get the cash to pay for the meal, according to the Buffalo News.
The cashier then called the police, but by the time they arrived, he had already fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. Recognizing who the man was from his neighborhood, a restaurant employee was able to give the police a description of the man as well as his name and address after they could not find him.
Later in the day police attempted to nab the man at his home, but he was not there, and according to police, he still remains at large with an investigation ongoing.
