A nearly nude New York driver was arrested for DWI and among other things in the northwestern New Jersey community of Sparta Township.
Catherine Giaquinto, 36, of Warwick, NY reportedly crashed her Volkswagen Jetta into a stone retaining wall and then left the scene according to witnesses.
One of the residents of Grove Terrace in the Lake Mohawk area of Sparta, N.J., called police at roughly 12:53 a.m., saying a white Volkswagon Jetta crashed into a store retaining wall before fleeing the scene, according to the Daily Record.
Minutes later when police pulled her over, she was wearing only an unzipped leather jacket. She had damage to her rear left passenger’s door, left front bender, and driver’s side door, which was consistent with the damage done to the retaining wall.
When they asked her about the accident, she told then that she did not recall being in one, and she did not know where she was heading. The officer noticed Giaquinto had clothing in her vehicle and asked her to get dressed. She allegedly struggled for 10 minutes to put her clothes on.
“During processing, Giaquinto became argumentative and disorderly,” a News 10 report stated. “She was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath testing, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, careless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt and a documentation violation.”
