Teen bank robber Hannah Sabata was arrested on Wednesday in Nebraska after she posted a video boasting about her crime and showing the money stolen on YouTube.
Sabata, 19, was charged with robbery of the Cornerstone Bank in Waco, NE. and stealing a car in the town of York
In the Youtube video, titled “Chick bank robber,” she posted after the November 28th crime, Sabata does not speak but instead holds up hand written signs boasting of her crimes calling the Pontaic Grand Am she stole as “shiny” and fanning out the $6,000 in cash she stole in front of the camera.
In the description of the video Hannah writes, “I just stole a car and robbed a bank. Now I’m rich, I can pay off my college financial aid and tomorrow I’m going for a shopping spree.”
Authorities say that on the day of the bank robbery, Hannah walked up to a teller and pointed what appeared to be a gun and handed over a note that read, “You are being robbed! NO ALARMS OR LOCKS OR PHONES or INK BAGS! I have a loaded gun. You have 2 minutes.”
Sabata may have been able to get away with the crime if it weren’t for one foolish mistake. Which was posting the video showing her face wearing the same clothes she wore in the banks surveillance video of the robbery, which lead police to being able to identify her.
As Hannah sits in her bedroom shooting the YouTube video, Green Day music plays in the background and she holds one sign up that read, “I told my mom today was the best day of my life… she just thinks I met a new boy.”
She also eludes to smoking marijuana and can buy more now. She also blames the government for taking her baby away.
The teen bank robbers bond was set at $300,000 and she is set to appear in court on December 26th. Authorities say they recovered all but $30 of the original $6,000 taken from the bank.
