Vermont State Police finally caught on to a prank pulled against them three years after the fact when one officer discovered a hidden image of a pig on his cruiser.
Police say, three years ago an inmate was responsible for creating and printing the new decals on the police cruisers which had the image of a cow, the traditional state emblem. However, they say that the inmate somehow must have changed the program in the computer to have one of the spots on the cow resemble a pig.
Though an investigation has been launched to find the culprit, they admit he may not still be in custody and if he is still incarcerated, they will just handle it internally and not bring new charges against him or her.
They prank was found on about 30 state police cruisers and will cost about $780 to correct.
“If the people had used some of that creativeness, he or she would not have ended up inside,” Vermont public safety commissioner Keith Flynn told the Burlington Free Press.
While Vermont State Police executive officer William Sheets said, that from now on, there would be better quality control on items being created by the Corrections Department.
