An 18-year-old video gamer collapses and dies in a Tainan, southern Taiwan Internet cafe after playing the role-playing game Diablo 3 for 40 hours straight.

In the morning hours of July 15, the man known as Chuang which is his last name, was awakened by an attendant at the cafe after he found him asleep in the rented room. Reportedly, the man woke up, stood, took a few steps and then collapsed; he was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to The Australian, the video gamer went almost two days without eating as he played Diablo 3, in a private room that he rented in the internet cafe. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the young mans death, and they should know more when autopsy results come back.

There is speculation that the cause of death will be cardiovascular due to sitting for so many hours straight.

This is the second reported death this year, for the country, from playing video games. A New Taipei man was found dead in February, after gaming for 23 hours straight, he was bent forward in a chair in front of his computer with his arms reaching out for his keyboard. In this case, the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
