Israel lifts 43 year Beatles ban. Paul McCartney set to perform in Tel Aviv.

Paul McCartney will play a concert in Tel Aviv on September 25. McCartney and the Beatles were banned in Israel until recently.

Sir Paul McCartney has been given entry to the state of Israel. The entertainer will perform in Tel Aviv on September 25.

Prior to permission to enter the country, Israel banned McCartney over 43 years ago.

In 1965, Israel banned the Beatles from entering the country. Officials decided the lyrical content of their music could corrupt their youth.

McCartney was scheduled to play Tel Aviv earlier this year. However, the show was cancelled and re-scheduled for September 25, 2008.

Despite media reports of the show, there is still a small problem.

Stuart Bell, McCartney's publicist, issued a statement indicating that nothing has yet been official or confirmed for the performance.

This could put a damper on things as fans in Israel are ready for Paul McCartney.
