First Lady Michelle Obama unveiled a shorter, above-the-shoulder bob Tuesday, her first haircut of the new year. This time it’s not just another elegant up-do like what happened in July. Mrs. Obama’s hair was cut within the last week, after she returned from the family’s holiday vacation in Hawaii.

The new hairdo is creating quite a buzz on the Web with its sleek, full-bodied and blunt-cut. The hairdo is something that might remind you of the 1920’s actress Louise Brooks. TV reporters spotted the new look when she accompanied the president to the funeral for Vice President Joe Biden’s mother.

Now people are asking if this is the return of the bob. The once famous cut, although not so popular nowadays, has been seen sported by select celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Katie Holmes, Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, and Eva Longoria. The hairstyle is seeing a trend.

If you’re thinking of getting the same hairstyle, remember to consider your face shape and hair texture. These two are usually the main factors which determine if the style will work for you. For example, if you have large face cheeks, you’re better off with longer hair.
