When Michael Strahan relists his Tribeca condo back in November 2009 for $1.85 million, the median list apartment price in Manhattan hovered around $950,000. The condo didn’t nab a sale, so Strahan took it off the market.
Three years later, the median list price in Manhattan is now $1.5 million — which is an increase of 33.3 percent year-over-year. Strahan, who hosts “Fox NFL Sunday” and co-hosts “Live! with Kelly and Michael” alongside Kelly Ripa, is trying his luck on the for-sale market again, increasing the list price on 25 Murray St #5C, New York, NY 10007 to $2.25 million.
Listing agent Frances Katzen of Douglas Elliman told the Wall Street Journal that Strahan planned to renovate the home and use it as a pied-à-terre. When it didn’t sell in 2009, he rented out the condo for awhile. Now that the market has rebounded, he’s ready to part with the place for good.
The prewar-era home sits in the heart of Tribeca, just a “stone’s throw away from some of the best restaurants in the city,” according to the listing description. Boasting 18-foot-high ceilings, the 1,911-square-foot space has 2 beds and 2 baths, exposed white-washed brick, hardwood floors and a large entertaining area. The building also offers shared amenities, including an exercise room and health club.
If Strahan gets his asking price for the condo, a monthly mortgage payment is calculated to be $10,998, assuming 20 percent down on a 30-year-fixed mortgage.
