The Atlanta Hawks may not be a top NBA contender this year, but their cheerleaders are selling their annual swimsuit calendar. The cheerleaders wanted to garner some laughs from its fans, and they sure did.
It’s been dubbed something worse than the NBA’s Eastern Conference. The team created a spoof of the movie “Sharknado,” and unveiled the clip last Friday night. It could be the Web’s worse video production ever.
The two-minute preview shows the Atlanta cheerleaders fighting evil hawks that are destroying the city, but luckily for them, some of the Atlanta players come to help out and save the day.
Things start out with the Hawks cheerleaders traveling far from Atlanta, to a beach in Cancun, Mexico, for a calendar photo shoot but things quickly turn sour when the city is ravaged by, you guessed it, hawks.
The cheerleaders do their best to fight back, which includes some absolutely woeful acting from Kyle Korver. But it’s not until one of the dancers nails are broken until things get really out of hand.
The Atlanta Hawks are one of the more cutting-edge teams when it comes to social media. Whether it’s making somewhat funny fan instructional videos or posting relatively amusing tweets, they seem to be at the forefront of creating viral content, at least in regards to NBA teams.
The latest attempt to craft a few laughs using a team of cheerleaders is quite funny.
Whoever decided it would be a good idea to spoof the “Sharknado” movie certainly had a dull sense of humor.
