Baltimore Vs Jacksonville On Monday Night Football

Baltimore vs Jacksonville on Monday Night Football. The AFC North leading (4-1) Baltimore Ravens [-9] will try to create some breathing space in the standings when they visit the NFL Odds underdogs, (1-5) Jacksonville Jaguars [+9].

EverBank Field in north Florida will be the site for Week 7’s Monday Night Football, beginning at 8:30 PM ET (7:30 PM CT) on ESPN. For the visiting Ravens, although their record would suggest this team has been dominant, there’s still plenty of room for improvement.

Leading the division by a single game, the Ravens are certainly hearing footsteps, as the (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals are stepping on their heels.

Baltimore is coming off a 29-14 victory over the Houston Texans last week that left a lot to be desired. Terrible on third downs, Joe Flacco couldn’t get into the end zone not once, as the Texans defense held its ground. Things will not get a whole lot easier for Flacco this NFL picks week, as the Jags defense ranks among the best in the league in every major statistical category.

“We can do better,” said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. “We’ve got to get better in the red zone and we don’t need Joe getting hit like that.”

For the Jags, everything starts and ends with defense. Jacksonville is ranked eighth in the league in both total yards (325.3) and passing yards (210.3), but only 19th against the run (115 rypg). Losers of five straight games, Jack Del Rio’s group ranks among the worst in the league offensively with the exception of the running game: 12.0 points per game (ranked 31st), 260.3 total yards per game (32nd), 137.7 passing yards per game (32nd).

“I told our guys we are not into moral victories, but I know one thing, if you let go of the rope you have no chance,” Coach Del Rio said while preparing for Monday Night Football odds. “As a football team, we are doing the right things, preparing the right way, working our butts off. What’s it horseshoes and hand grenades? Being close is OK in those, but not in football.”
