Boston Celtics Rumors – Boston Celtics… everybody’s talking about this team based on NBA trade rumors about a possible Chris Paul deal. He’s a great ball player and for some reason the Sacramento Kings is smiling, which adds to the mystery. Ah, yes, this does create speculation in the league.
It all begins with Marquis Daniels who could be close to a return with the Celtics, as first reported by Julian Benbow of The Boston Globe.
Daniels played parts of two seasons in Boston before being traded away last year to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for a second round pick in 2017.
However, Daniels suffered a spinal injury after colliding with Gilbert Arenas on February 6. After Daniels was hit, he fell to the floor and lay motionless before being taken off on a stretcher. He would not play another game that season and was soon traded to the Kings.
In eight NBA seasons, Daniels has averaged 8.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 451 games. Last season, Daniels averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 49 games with the Celtics. The season before, Daniels averaged 5.6 points and 1.9 boards in 51 games. Daniels best season came in 2008-09, when he averaged a career-high 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds.
For now, this is all we know, but insiders tell us that a deal could be made this weekend.
