A cheerleader from the William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Miss. nailed a front-flip half-court shot on Thursday.
Ashlee Arnau, ran to half court, did a front flip picking up the basketball on her way up, and propelled the ball into the net.
“It’s an adrenaline rush,” the 21-year-old told the Daily News. “I was kind of shocked at first and then the crowd started cheering. I got so excited! I couldn’t believe it! It was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.”
Arnau told The Associated Press that she usually tries it about four or five times, and that she has come close but never made it until Thursday. This amazing shot was made on her fifth attempt at the last hometown game of the season.
“It’s exciting but yet overwhelming,” she said. “I’ve never had anything this big happen in my life. I’m really enjoying it. I’m very blessed.”
