College Basketball Hoops And Rankings

College Basketball Rankings – College basketball is still going strong and the rankings reveal some incredible winners. The home contests against between Albany and Rider happened over the weekend.

Pitt moved up to No. 9 in both polls. The reason for the move up was largely due to Vanderbilt (previously No. 7) being upset by Cleveland State. As a result, the Commodores dropped to No. 18 in the AP Top 25 and No. 20 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Panthers also jumped one spot ahead of Memphis, who has yet to play a game, in the ESPN/USA Today poll. With a slightly down non-conference schedule, Pitt’s first true test might not come until the City Game against Duquesne on November 30th or a road game at Tennessee on December 3rd.

Other Big East teams in the Top 25 are the UConn Huskies, Syracuse Orange, Louisville Cardinals, Cincinnati Bearcats, and Marquette Golden Eagles. All of those teams are undefeated.

The North Carolina Tarheels remained a near-consensus No. 1 pick in both polls.
