Lawrence Taylor Pleads Guilty – A woman paid by Lawrence Taylor for sex when she was 16 years old sued the former New York Giants football player on Monday for unspecified damages.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee admitted in January that he paid Cristina Fierro $300 in 2010 at a Holiday Inn in Montebello, some 35 miles northwest of New York City. He was sentenced to six years probation and had to register as a sex offender.
Fierro, who is now 18 years old, sued Taylor, 52, under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, according to court papers filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
“Every day, thousands of vulnerable girls and women are forcibly trafficked and abused, their bodies and personhood treated like objects and dehumanized by those with power and resources,” Fierro’s lawyers, who include celebrity attorney Gloria Allred, wrote in court papers.
“None of these girls or women should be suffering; Cristina Fierro is just one of them seeking justice,” the lawyers said.
Fierro, who was a runaway, had told police that her pimp had verbally threatened her and physically assaulted her before bringing her to the hotel to meet Taylor. The pimp, Rasheed Davis, has since pleaded guilty to sex trafficking.
“Cristina Fierro was a victim of a human sex trafficking offense because she was compelled through means of force, threats of force, and coercion to travel with Rasheed Davis for the purpose of providing commercial sex to defendant Lawrence Taylor,” according to the court documents.
“As a direct result of Taylor’s unlawful conduct, Ms Fierro sustained substantial physical and emotional injuries,” her lawyers wrote.
Fierro’s lawyers have requested a trial by jury.
