Melissa Kellerman – Melissa Kellerman removed her own Dallas Cowboys twitter account. A day after tweeting about her sideline experience, her account mysteriously disappeared. At the time, it was rumored that the football club had silenced its social network cheerleader.
However, the Dallas Cowboys say that it isn’t true.
CBS asked the NFL organization if it deleted Kellerman’s account. They responded in an email, stating:
“The Dallas Cowboys Football Club did not. We don’t get involved in administering twitter accounts.”
So why was her account deleted? Did Kellerman decide to delete her own account?
During the Cowboys’ game, tight end Jason Witten tumbled through the sidelines and tackled Kellerman.
Here’s a video of Melissa Kellerman being tackled by Cowboys receiver Jason Witten.
After the incident, Kellerman tweeted:
“Not hurtin’ today, like some of y’all thought I would be! Our TE isn’t as tough as he looks… That or I’m WAY tougher than I look… I’m not the best at Jason Witten trust falls.”
Apparently that was a cheerleader no-no since her Twitter account disappeared shortly afterward.
CNBC’s Darren Rovell reported, via Twitter, that the Dallas Cowboys forced Kellerman to delete her account. Rovell said:
“Shame on the Cowboys for pulling cheerleader @MelissaRae off Twitter. Not allowing these girls to capitalize is criminal.”
The Cowboys denied the allegation (see above). Kellerman’s Twitter is back up and running but it is now a protected account, which means that “only confirmed followers have access to @melissarae’s Tweets and complete profile.”
