Pro golfer Steven Thomas, who played in the champions tour and 44 PGA events, was caught in a soliciting child sex sting that took place in Central Florida last week, police say.

Authorities in Osceola County set up a child sex sting called “Operation Red Cheeks” in which they netted 40 predator’s including Thomas, a swim coach and an eight grade teacher, looking to have sex with a thirteen year-old girl.

The coordinator’s set up the trap via the Internet, through which the predator’s thought they where making arrangement’s with a girl’s mother to come to her home to have sex with her daughter. Only when the suspect’s arrived to the home they were met by officer’s inside.

Thomas is shown in a police video pleading with officers that he had done nothing wrong. Upon a search of Thomas’s car after his arrest, police found three condom’s along with 2 packages of pudding and a bottle of honey.

“These predators stalk the cyber community looking for children,” said Osceola Sheriff Bob Hansell, adding that because of the sting, “at a minimum, 40 children did not fall prey to a sexual deviant.”

All the suspects rounded up in the sting will be charged with, travel to seduce a child and commit sex acts, transmitting harmful images of a minor, and use of a computer to solicit a child for sex.
