Terrell Owens Workout – Terrell Owens thought that his workout auction would attract some NFL teams. It’s another bizarre situation because no coaches or teams showed up during his stage in Calabasas, California.
With no one on hand to work the stopwatch at Calabasas High, most tell T.O. to skip the 40-yard dash.
Working with the 38-year-old wide receiver was Casey Hansen, a former Norfolk State quarterback who briefly was in a Philadelphia Eagles training camp as an unsigned free agent. Agent Drew Rosenhaus has contended the Titans are interested in Owens, but Tennessee coach Mike Munchak downplayed that, and said the team had no plans to send a rep to the workout.
Owens came on the field at about 1:45 ET. NFL Network said he had been expected to arrive an hour before the workout started. If any team is interested in him the big question will be the condition of his left knee, which had surgery this year.
NFL Network’s crew has made the point the scouts might be staying away because they don’t want opponents to know they’re interested, and that they still can get a good idea of Owens’ condition via the televised workout.
UPDATE at 2:35: Terrell is getting ready to run some pass routes, and has gone to the bare-chested look, removing his T-shirt. The shirt T.O. was wearing had “I am” written on the front and “ready” on the back.
UPDATE at 3 p.m.: Owens has finished the workout, and didn’t run a 40-yard dash. He told the NFL Network that he was happy with how it went and wasn’t disappointed.
“I only need one team,” Owens said. “I only need one chance.”
