World Series Singers Feel The National Anthem Pressure

National Anthem World Series singers feel the pressure. The “American Idol” winner, Scotty McCreery, is getting flak for messing up the lyrics to the national anthem at the World Series.

It sounds as though the 18-year-old singer may have made a mistake at the World Series Wednesday night. McCreery appears to sing “No José does that star-spangled banner” instead of “Oh say does that star-spangled banner” before Game One of the World Series in St. Louis.

Zooey Deschanel has double duty on Fox: The star of the new series “New Girl” also is performing at the World Series. Deschanel is from the indie pop duo She & Him.

She’ll sing the national anthem at Game 4 of the Major League Baseball seven-game series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. It airs Sunday on Fox.

Before the actress takes the stage, country singer Trace Adkins will perform the anthem at Game 2 on Thursday, and Ronnie Dunn will do the same two days later at Game 3.
