Amazon.com Inc reports that its Kindle ebook reader is currently out of stock. This will mark the second Christmas sell-out for the wireless reader device. Amazon will not have stock for the electronic book reader until February 2009.
The online retailer underestimated demand for the ebook reader. Recent demand soared in October when Oprah Winfrey praised the Kindle wireless reader device. Winfrey went as far as calling the electronic book reader her favorite new gadget.
Kindle started disappearing off store shelves in October. Amazon made the mistake by not order more units for the holidays.
The ebook reader sells for $359. The electronic book reader offers a free Wi-Fi connection where users can preview or purchase electronic books. Book titles can be auto-delivered in less than one minute.
