Advanced Micro Devices Inc announced two new graphics cards on Tuesday. AMD introduced the ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350 video cards.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc launched its new ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics cards. The new video cards complete its new Radeon HD 4000 series lineup.

AMD noted that both cards are based on the same technology found in the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series. The cards support the latest DirectX 10.1 version for video games and superior HD multimedia capabilities.

The company is aiming at customers who either play video games or are looking forward to building a new HTPC system. AMD hopes to persuade Nvidia customers by adding more features within a low-cost budget graphics card.

The ATI Radeon HD 4550 price will start at $39. The price depends on whether you purchase the card with 256 MB or 512 MB options. Both the 4550 and 4350 cards will carry 80 stream processors.

The new Radeon products carry the same number of SP units (80), texture units (8), and ROPs (4). The Core clock is at 600MHz. The graphics cards have a 64-bit memory bus.

The only difference between the two cards is the amount of available RAM and that RAM's clock speed. The ATI HD 4550 utilizes 800MHz DDR3, while the 4350 will run at 500MHz and use DDR2.

ATI said the new graphics cards can deliver exceptional gaming and HD multimedia performance. The ATI Radeon HD 4550 graphics card plays game titles previously unplayable by cards in this price segment.
