Verizon Wireless will begin selling the new RIM BlackBerry mobile phone on November 21. The BlackBerry Storm will sell for $199 after a rebate.

RIM BlackBerry Storm 9730 will support Verizon's EvDO rev. It will also support GSM networks overseas. The phone supports assisted and standard GPS and features Click-Through technology.

BlackBerry Storm is being seen as a challenger to Apple Inc's iPhone. The iPhone has become the most popular smart phone in the United States. The Apple phone also outsold the entire BlackBerry mobile line of devices in the third quarter.

The new mobile device features mobile broadband access and the ability to download music. The RIM BlackBerry device has Web browsing and includes 9 GB of data storage. It also comes pre-loaded with applications such as Facebook and Flickr.

The BlackBerry mobile phone is part of RIM's response to the growing popularity of touch screen devices. Verizon Wireless customers who sign a two-year contract will be offered a $50 rebate. This brings the price down from $249 to $199 after the rebate.
