Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 – At this weeks Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Samsung announced the release date of March 1st at online stores for its new 7.7 inch Galaxy Tab.
The tablet with 4G LTE capability will be available for $499.99 and will require you to sign up for a 2 year contract with the Verizon Network. Though it is an upgrade on other similar tablets such as the wifi capable Kindle Fire, with having to sign up for a 2 year data package starting at $30 a month for 2gb, Samsung has shown it is still missing the mark with consumers in the tablet market.
When you can buy a Fire for $200 and connect to any wifi spot, with no required data package, it would cost you more than $1,2000 over the course of two years to own a Galaxy tab.
Even by their own admission Samsung seems to not be sure how to proceed in the tablet market. At the Barcelona show Samsung executive Hankil Yoon said, “Honestly, we’re not doing very well in the tablet market.”
Either way the new Galaxy Tab will feature a 1,280 x 800-pixel Super AMOLED Plus resolution display. It will support Google aps., front and back camera’s, and have a 1.4GHz dual-core processor.
