Wii Gets Alone In The Dark

Atari announced its upcoming survival horror action game Alone in the Dark will appear on the Wii and PlayStation 2 additionally to the already announced current versions for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Whereas Eden is handling development duties for the previously announced platforms, Atari has tapped Obscure II studio Hydravision for the Wii and PS2 versions of the game.

Wii version of “Alone In The Dark” will follow the same plot of the current-gen versions, where gamers will attempt to make it through the night as infernal forces are loosed in New York City’s Central Park.

While the Nintendo version will contain most of the gameplay and features, the Wii will gain full advantage of remote and Nunchuk controls to interact with the environment. Alone in the Dark, also known as Alone in the Dark 5 and Alone in the Dark: Near Death Investigation, is the fifth chapter of the series.

Alone in the Dark is currently slated to creep onto retail shelves in February 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Atari did not indicate whether the Wii and PS2 versions would launch in tandem with the others. It has not yet been rated.
