2010 Toyota Prius Maintains Excellent Build Quality While Delivering Hybrid Power

It is not surprising that the 2010 Toyota Prius is now the top selling hybrid car in Japan. Prius comes with an upgraded electric motor and gasoline engine in comparison to its previous hybrid models. While the Toyota car can achieve 50 mpg, some test driving results have beaten that figure.

The Toyota Prius received a slight power boost for its new model and drivers can feel the difference right away. The vehicle handles more natural with a smooth feel in comparison to its previous model. The 2010 Prius offers four different driving modes to enhance fuel efficiency.

Prius comes with a new 1.8-liter inline-four cylinder engine which provides more horsepower and better efficiency than previous models. The combined horsepower for the vehicle is 134. The automobile responds fast when accelerating and braking is smooth.

The Prius Hybrid uses electrical-assisted steering, which can offer more road feel than automobiles using hydraulic-assisted steering. In addition, included with the car is regenerative braking, which recaptures the energy lost and stores it in its hybrid batteries. The brake has a soft pedal-feel but braking performance is still very strong.

Toyota Prius still maintains is original distinctive shape but has grown in every dimension. It now shares the same hood bulge as other Toyota sedans. The body style is even more aerodynamic, creating fewer wind drags, than those of previous models.

The passenger cabin of the Prius is comfortable and maintains excellent build quality. The center console and shift lever are arranged in a more traditional layout. It reminds me of the Alpha Romeo is some ways. The 2010 Prius retains the largest cargo capacity of any hybrid car.

The 2010 Toyota Prius seats up to five passengers. The room is spacious and large and there's still plenty of room in both front and rear of the vehicle when fully loaded. However, there is a little road noise for passengers, which might interfere with comfort.

As far as the materials used in the cabin, it is all high quality. This Toyota hybrid adds unique style and quality which the Prius has been missing for two generations.
