Cost Estimates For 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid

The Toyota Prius is one of the top selling hybrid cars. The 2010 Toyota Prius starting price is $22,000. This 2010 Prius hybrid is friendly to the environment and is one of the best green cars on the market.

Toyota Prius will also include a plug-in version which will allow consumers to recharge the electric batteries from their home or workplace. However, many people are holding out for the electric plug-in but that could take another two years. The price for the vehicle is very competitive, and it does include some new revolutionary technologies such as solar.

The Prius car provides outstanding mileage, ultra-low emissions, and a reasonable price. While the hybrid price is one of the greatest strengths of the car, it also includes new revolutionary technologies. One of them is the new Solar Panel Ventilation system.

The Prius Solar Panel Ventilation system is powered by direct sun. This system is used to cool the hybrid car when the interior temperature reaches 86 degrees. A Solar Roof Package includes the Navigation Package and uses an electric fan to help keep the vehicle cooler when parked under the sun by venting the interior's heated air with the outdoors.

The Prius Hybrid gets it name from Latin and is defined as "to go before." While it was first designed to offer better fuel economy, it also has a partial solution to the automobile's problem of tailpipe emissions. As technologically sophisticated as the hybrid is, it's a remarkably practical car to drive on a day-to-day basis.

Fuel Economy

The Prius vehicle has an EPA combined fuel economy estimate of 51 miles per gallon. Fuel consumption, or fuel-efficiency in hybrid cars is generally measured as distance traveled per unit volume of fuel, as in miles per gallon (mpg), or as the volume of fuel required to cover a given distance, as in litres per 100 kilometres (L/100 km).

When buying the Prius, you can negotiate a better price with the dealer. Some features including the Navigation system might be removed in an effort to bring down the price. In addition, some dealerships will tint your windows for free.

However, the Toyota Prius price is still great in comparison to a similar sized Corolla. The price is excellent when you compare to the savings that can offset in the long run. Even so, it still depends on whether the price of gas is above $2 per gallon.

There is also the issue that new cars could go up in price. The pricing of these new cars, including the 2010 Prius, might be set low due to the current economic recession. There is evidence that even the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid could be priced much higher than the current third-generation.

The hybrid car has no belts under the hood making it less vulnerable to scheduled maintenance. The new body design is more aerodynamic with the coefficient of drag reduced to more slippery. The Toyota Prius is price-sensitive, conservatively designed, and has more than a decade of proven reliability since the original model was introduced.

Noise Reduction

While the vehicle does have noise reduction measures, it can get noisy for passengers. There is also a noise when the vehicle is running on its electric-mode operation. However, these noises are not that bad, and most people we spoke with prefer to get 51 MPG with minimal noises.

A neighbor of mine purchased a Prius for his son. The son attends a local high school, and he gets a lot of attention from other students. The young generation has accepted the Prius Hybrid as a very cool ride. In addition, his insurance rates are much lower on this automobile than the conventional car he was driving. Insurance rates might not work for everyone, but most of the people we spoke with say they have lower car rates with the Toyota Prius.

The Toyota Hybrid car performed much closer to EPA estimates in highway tests. The market saw a boom in sales when the Toyota Prius came out on the market. It was the first hybrid with four doors that was marketed in America.
