Atlanta airport shooting outside Delta. A woman was shot to death by police after a shooting outside an Atlanta airport near Delta Air Lines. The shooting occurred near the Delta Air Lines maintenance facility at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

According to reports the woman had been looking for her husband or boyfriend at the building. Apparently, the police station was called when someone saw her with a weapon. Clayton County Police Lt. Tina Daniel stated authorities believe the woman was looking for a Delta employee at the Delta Technical Operations Center.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead stated “At least one officer opened fire after the woman, who was armed, went past a security checkpoint in her car.”

“It was not immediately known whether the woman died from police gunfire or a self-inflicted wound,” added Bankhead. An autopsy is expected to be completed on Tuesday. Investigators are now attempting to determine the circumstances of the shooting. According to Delta no employees were injured.
