A drunk man on an flight from Iceland to New York was causing such a problem for other Icelandair passengers, that they taped him to the seat after he tried to choke one person and kept screaming that the plane was going to crash.

Drunk Man Taped To Seat

There’s nothing like being on a plane with drunks, and that’s why Andy Ellwood, a passenger on this bizarre flight, took a photo of the man and posted it for everyone to see.

“Passenger drank all of his duty free liquor on the flight from Iceland to JFK yesterday. When he became unruly, (i.e. trying to choke the woman next to him and screaming the plane was going to crash), fellow passengers subdued him and tie him up for the rest of the flight. He was escorted off the flight by police when it landed,” Ellwood wrote on his blog.

There was also the case of spitting, as the drunk passenger was spreading his saliva everywhere, telling passengers that he “has germs” while threatening them for about two hours into the flight.

The passengers had enough of the problem, so they talked about it and decided to work with the crew and tape the man down into his seat, with sock in his mouth to keep his completely quiet.

Upon arrival at the JFK airport, the man was immediately arrested and taken to a hospital in Queens, New York.

The intoxicated man was not prosecuted for the federal offense because passengers refused to get involved and wouldn’t tell police their names.
