Virginia I-64 Shootings Suspect Arrested

Virginia I-64 was shut down by State Police

Slade Allen Woodson, 19, was arrested Friday morning as police searched a farm in a rural part of central Virginia.

Woodson was charged in a separate bank shooting that happened early Thursday morning, but police say more charges are possible.

Six vehicles were hit during the gunfire that began early Thursday on the Interstate 64 highway. Two cars, a van, a tractor-trailer and an unoccupied dump truck were among the vehicles that were struck. Two people were injured, but their wounds were not life threatening.

Police had shut down a 20-mile stretch of the Interstate while they searched for evidence. They eventually found shell casings in two separate areas giving rise to their theory that more than one shooter carried out the acts.
