Australia area waters have suffered a third shark attack in as many weeks, even know many of the coastal beaches have shark nets to prevent such occurrences.
Shark attacks are considered rare in the country with 27 people killed over the last 22 year period. However starting on January 3rd Australia has seen a a breach out in attacks.
The first on January 3rd happened when a surfer was bitten on his arm at North Avoca beach on the east coast.
Then last week another east coast surfer on Rehead Beach was bitten, by what witnesses believed was a 6 1/2 foot bull shark, on the leg, taking a chunk of flesh out of his thigh.
Now, this week on the western coast at Coral Bay a snorkeler was attacked by what is thought to be a 10 foot tiger shark. He was left with severe bite wounds to his arm.
Officials can’t explain why there has been a seemingly uptick in attacks as of late, but experts indicate that both tiger and bull sharks have been known to be the most aggressive kind of sharks when it comes to interaction with humans.
So far all three attacked beach goers have survived there ordeals and have been listed in at least stable condition.
