Bedbugs Empire State Building of New York City. Exterminators were called to the Empire State Building in New York after bedbugs were found inside. In fact, the bedbugs are found in other areas than just the Empire State Building that include theaters, clothing stores, and offices.
Empire State Building with bedbugs? According to officials the exterminators were called to clean out an employee changing room in the tower’s basement. Apparently, an employee unknowingly brought the bedbugs into the building on his clothes. The problem is now under control.
The city of New York fielded 11,000 complaints involving bedbugs last year. Recently, the bugs have been discovered in New York City theaters, clothing stores, office buildings, housing projects and posh apartments. In addition, they have invaded 4-star hotels, luxury resorts, and nice homes in suburbia.
Bedbugs are small, elusive, parasitic insects of the family Cimicidae. The term usually refers to species that feed preferentially on human blood. All of the insects in this family live by feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals.
