A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed by a stray bullet, while riding a public bus home from a sweet 16 party in Queen, NY.

Police have not made any arrest, and are still searching for her killer. The unidentified man, fired 10 bullets into the Q6 city bus as it was stopped at traffic lights.

D’aja (Asia) Robinson was struck in the head, by one of the bullets that made its way in through a window. She was rushed by paramedics to Jamaica Hospital where she later died from injures.

Understandable, the young girl’s family and friends were inconsolable.

“My baby! My baby! Why did they murder my baby?” the distraught grandmother of victim D’aja (Asia) Robinson sobbed outside the family home Sunday. “They shot my baby. My poor baby.”

Authorities are unsure if the high school freshman was a target, or if she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“The shots were fired towards the bus while it was moving,” police told NBC. “Investigators recovered nine bullet shell casings.”

Onlookers mentioned that a group of teens appeared to be following Robinson and her three friends when they left the party, the NY Daily News reported.

“She was sweet,” Jamaica resident Jamaal Jefferson, 17, told the New York Daily News on Sunday. “She was young … she was going to school, living her life. It’s just a tragedy.”
