Girl Tsunami Found – A girl who was swept out to sea by the Indonesia Tsunami in 2004 has been found. Wati, 8, was feared dead after 7 long years. At the time her mother, Yusniar, was trying to escape the waves of water with all three of her children, but she lost her grip on Wati and she was taken away by the water.

Yusinar and her two other children survived, but that was the last time anyone in the village saw Wati.

Now after all that time since the tsunami Wati has made her way back to her family. The only thing the girl could remember of her family was the name of her grandfather, Ibrahim.

A man working in a coffee shop that Wati went to told her story too knew Ibrahim and brought her to see him. She had said she was trying to find her back home but didn’t know how to find it.

Now a teenager, Ibrahim was convinced the girl was his grand-daughter and brought her back to her parents. Wati was quickly identified by her parents with a mole and also scar she received on her eyebrow when she was six.

It was not known how the girl survived the tsunami and gets found 7 years later, but many people and their personal items were displaced after the incident.
