The girlfriend of convicted murderer Joran Van Der Sloot is three months pregnant with his child according to his lawyer. Reportedly, Van der Sloot is allowed unsupervised prison visits with his Peruvian girlfriend, named Leidi, and this is how she conceived a child with him.
The woman, identified by the paper only as “Leidi,” was said to have become pregnant during an unsupervised visit with Van der Sloot, according to the Huff Post. It was not clear whether that is allowed or possible under Peruvian prison rules. Media in Peru last year identified a woman named Leydi Figueroa Uceda as Van der Sloot’s girlfriend, and said they had conceived a son together, but she denied it. Altez then described the pair as “friends.”
Van der Sloot has been arrested twice for the 2005 disappearance of Natalee Holloway; however, he has never been convicted.
In addition, to being convicted of murder in the 2010 slaying of 21-year-old Peruvian Stephany Flores, he is wanted in the United States on extortion charges. Allegedly, he extorted more than $250,000 from the Holloway family when they attempted to get information about the whereabouts of where her body could be found.
